今日は朝からレッスンでした。通勤していた頃は、もう家を出ていた時間にレッスンなので、早い時間でも楽です。
今日は、情報を読み解くレッスン内容でした。当然、わからない言葉もあり、情報から推測しないといけないこともあります。でも、全て読めなくてもある情報から考え必要な情報を読んでいく。難しいですよね。
学習者さんが頭を抱えてしまったので、一旦宿題にしました。推測したことを調べて、どのように読んだのか。そう読み解いた根拠はどこからかなど、来週一緒に話し合う予定です。
生活していくためには、こうした力も必要になってきます。考えてどんな行動をとるのかも考えていかなければなりません。
学習者さんは、むずかしいと言いましたが、でも、この内容のレッスンをやりたいということでした。一生懸命です。
私は、すぐに諦めてしまうタイプなので、見習わなければ・・・です。
では、明日は金曜日。週末はすぐそこですね。

I had a lesson this morning. Back when I was commuting to work, I would have already left home at this time, so even though the lesson starts early, it actually feels quite relaxing now.
Today’s lesson was about interpreting information. Naturally, there were some words I didn’t understand, and sometimes I had to infer the meaning from the given information. Even if we can’t read everything perfectly, it’s important to think through what we can understand and extract the necessary information. It’s quite challenging, isn’t it?
My learner found it a bit overwhelming, so we decided to make it homework for now. Next week, we’ll discuss what they inferred, how they interpreted the information, and what evidence they used to reach those conclusions.
In life, we need to develop this kind of ability, too — the ability to think things through and decide how to act.
The learner said it was difficult, but still wanted to continue with this type of lesson. Such dedication!
I tend to give up easily, so I really need to learn from that attitude…
Well then, tomorrow is Friday — the weekend is just around the corner.
