ことのは 買い物したり、映画をみたりしました。

一週間始まりましたね。みなさんは、先週何をしましたか？
私は、週末、デパートで買い物をしたり、映画をみたりしました。楽しかったです。
勉強を始めたときは、「週末は、買い物に行きました。それから、映画をみました。」のように表現します。でも初級も終わりの頃、「～たり、～たり」を使って、週末したことを、2-3つピックアップして表現する形を勉強します。
日常会話でよく使われる表現です。
これは、今まで使ってきた「買いものします」や「みます」を「買った」や「みた」の形に変えて使います。活用が変わってくるので、苦手な方もいるのですが、まちがえてもどんどん文章にしていく学習者さんもいます。二つの文からひとつの文にすることが楽しいようです。楽しすぎて、「～たり、～たり」が多すぎるんですが、まずは言ってみることは大切です。
勉強が進むと、むずかしいと感じることもあると思います。でも、今週も、日本語のテキストを読んだり、ポッドキャストを聞いたりして、日本語学習を楽しんでください。
表現の幅が拡がってくると、会話も弾んで楽しくなると思います。

A new week has begun!
What did you all do last week?
As for me, over the weekend I went shopping at a department store and watched a movie. It was a lot of fun.
When you first start studying Japanese, you might say something like,On the weekend, I went shopping. Then, I watched a movie.”
But toward the end of the beginner level, you learn to use the “~tari, ~tari” pattern to pick out two or three things you did over the weekend and express them together in one sentence
~tari, ~tari” is an expression commonly used in everyday conversation.
To do this, you change verbs like “kaimono shimasu (to shop)” and “mimasu (to watch)” into their past tense forms “katta” and “mita.”
Since this involves verb conjugation, some learners find it tricky. However, there are many learners who keep creating sentences even if they make mistakes. They seem to enjoy combining two sentences into one. Sometimes they enjoy it too much, and end up using too many “~tari, ~tari” phrases—but that’s okay! The most important thing is to try using them.
As your studies progress, you may sometimes feel that Japanese is difficult.
Even so, this week, please enjoy your learning—by reading Japanese textbooks, listening to podcasts, and immersing yourself in the language.
