1週間始まりましたね。
今週、私は、英語のレッスンや日本語学習者さんとの交流会など、多言語に触れることが多くなりそうです。
ところで、みなさんは、日本語を勉強したいと思ったきっかけは何ですか？
日本のアニメを見たい、日本旅行を楽しみたいなどでしょうか。
おもしろいアニメを見て、それが翻訳なしで理解できると嬉しいですよね。旅行もその土地の言語がわかればさらに楽しい旅行になることでしょう。
私も、先週、サッカーの試合を見に行き、最後の監督のメッセージが全くわからなかったので、「これが、少しでもわかったら、もっと共感できるのになぁ」と思いました。監督はスペイン語を話します。それで、ちょっとだけでも勉強したいなぁと思ってしまいました。
みなさんも、それをわかりたいなぁと興味を持ったら、言語の勉強をしたくなりませんか？
急に、本格的な学習は負担かもしれないので、もし日本や日本語に興味をもたれたら、あいさつや簡単な単語から始めてみてください。最近はたくさんアプリもあるので、勉強しやすいですよね。

A new week has begun.
This week, it looks like I’ll have many chances to use multiple languages, such as English lessons and meetups with Japanese learners.
By the way, What inspired you to start studying Japanese?
Was it because you wanted to watch Japanese anime or enjoy traveling in Japan?
It feels great when you can watch an interesting anime and understand it without subtitles, doesn’t it? And traveling becomes even more enjoyable when you understand the local language.
Last week, I went to watch a soccer match, and I couldn’t understand the coach’s final message at all. I thought, “If I could understand even a little of this, I would feel so much more connected.” The coach speaks Spanish, so it made me want to study it, even just a bit.
When you become curious and think, “I want to understand that,” doesn’t it make you want to study the language too?
Jumping into full-scale study can feel overwhelming, so if you become interested in Japan or Japanese, try starting with greetings or simple words. There are so many apps these days that make studying easier.
