ことのは 「ありますか」と「ありませんか」のちがいは？

レッスンをすると、文法に関する質問は必ずあります。昨日は、文法以外の質問がわからなくて、ググりましたが・・・
例えば、デパートで欲しいものを欲しいものを探している買い物の場面で、「ありますか」と「ありませんか」の違いは何ですか？と質問がありました。日本語学校では、未習の質問には対応しないときいたことがありますが、私のレッスンでは、未習・既習は関係ありません。誤用せず、安心して早く生活で使えるようになって欲しいと思うので、質問は取り上げます。
これについては、一人二役になって、ポイントの説明とともに伝えました。そして、でも大事なのはね・・・・とも付け加えました。みなさん、そうだねと理解納得してくれましたが、みなさんは、この違い、なんだと思いますか？
英語だと一緒だけど、日本語はちがうということはよくありますよね。日本語を学ぶとき、それは大事なポイントのひとつなのかなと思います。

When we have lessons, there are always questions about grammar. Yesterday, however, there was a question outside of grammar that I couldn’t answer right away, so I looked it up online…
For example, in a shopping situation at a department store when looking for something you want, one student asked:
“What is the difference between ありますか and ありませんか?”
I have heard that in Japanese language schools, teachers sometimes do not address questions about material that has not yet been taught. But in my lessons, it doesn’t matter whether the grammar point has been covered or not. I want my students to use Japanese naturally and correctly in daily life as soon as possible without worrying about mistakes, so I always take up such questions.
In this case, I explained the point by playing both roles in a dialogue. And then I added, “But what’s really important is…” Everyone agreed and said, “That makes sense.” Still, I wonder what you think about this difference.
In English, the expressions would be the same, but in Japanese, they are different. That kind of subtlety is often the case, isn’t it? I think noticing such differences is one of the important points when learning Japanese.
